I wasn't given a great education about what I should expect from a menstrual cycle.  Or what might be normal.  Thankfully, I have learnt a lot since then, and there is a lot of information out there. I hope that this page will give you a little insight as to how acupuncture might consider conditions such as polycystic ovarian syndrome, fertility or periods which are excessive in quantity.

In the words of Lisa Hendrickson-Jack

"Your menstrual cycle is a vital sign, just like your pulse, temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure. And it provides you with essential information about your health"

If you would also like to understand how a 'normal' period works then I suggest reading my blog post.

I have also saved some reading, at the end of this page, which I recommend if you are interested in learning more.
